Wet down and protect
Beds and plants are rinsed first, and windows and doors are checked shut.
Clean at low pressure
A cleaning solution does the work on mildew and algae, so brick, stone and stucco never take a blast of high pressure.
Rinse top to bottom
Walls, trim and soffits are rinsed down, then the porch, entry and walks.
Questions
Will washing damage my brick or stone?
Not when it is done at low pressure. High pressure can etch soft stone, wash out old mortar and gouge stucco, which is why house washing relies on a cleaning solution and a gentle rinse rather than force.
How often should a house be washed?
It depends on the weather, the surface and how much shade and buildup it gets. For most homes, once or twice a year keeps it looking good.
What should I do before you come?
Close the windows, move cars and patio furniture away from the walls, bring pets inside, and point out anything delicate like outdoor outlets, lights or loose siding.
Do you clean the porch and entryway too?
Yes. The porch, entry and front walk get rinsed as part of the wash. If the driveway needs a full cleaning as well, ask for both in one estimate.
