Roof washing
Black streaks, algae and moss removed with a soft wash, never high pressure. For homes and businesses in Killeen and across Central Texas. Free estimates.
What it is
The black streaks running down a roof are usually not dirt. They are algae, living on the shingles and spreading a little more every year, mostly on the slopes that get the least sun.
A roof wash kills that growth and rinses it off with a low-pressure soft wash, so the shingles come back to an even color without losing the granules that protect them.

How it's done
Look at the roof
Check the roof type, where the growth is, and anything fragile like old flashing or loose shingles.
Protect the ground
Plants and beds below the roofline are rinsed before and after.
Soft wash
A cleaning solution goes on at low pressure and is given time to kill the algae, moss and lichen at the root.
Rinse and check
The roof and gutters are rinsed down, and the ground around the house gets a final rinse.
Questions
What are the black streaks on my roof?
Usually algae that grows on shingles and spreads in streaks down the slope. It shows up first on the sides that get the least sun and the most shade from trees.
Is it safe to pressure wash a roof?
Not with high pressure. It strips granules and can push water under the shingles. Roofs are soft washed: low pressure and a cleaning solution that does the work.
How long does a clean roof stay clean?
It depends on shade, trees and weather. A roof under heavy shade will see growth come back sooner than one in full sun.
Do you wash metal roofs?
Yes. Metal roofs collect dirt, mildew and streaking too, and are soft washed the same gentle way.
